The stories from these trips were legendary and were often repeated. He also loved to travel in his retirement years going on a cruise to Alaska and thru the Panama Canal. He was a very talented mechanic who worked for auto repair businesses on most of the downtown street corners. In looking through his treasured Snap-On tool chest, you would find drawers of hand-made tools whose use was only known to him.
