DES MOINES – Iowa Jobs for America’s Graduates (iJAG) held its annual State Leadership Development Conference held on Nov. 4 in Des Moines, bringing together 1,500 students from across Iowa to improve their leadership skills, connect with peers, and elect the next State Career Officers.

GMG proudly sent their senior Career Association members, including Henry Dieleman, Drayson Stephenson, Jocie Parks, Gracelyn Peak, Kami McWilliams, Liam Fitzsimmons, Colton Hauser, and Payton Laffoon to participate. Three juniors, Brooke Thomas, Brynn White, and Summer Witte also attended to lead a student-led t-shirt fundraiser, demonstrating entrepreneurship and teamwork.

Lexi and Gracelyn – past and current state officers – each led their own workshops, sharing their knowledge and inspiring other students. Both Gracie Deal and Tavin Coleman advanced to the final eight candidates for State Career Officer positions, an achievement that required success through multiple rounds of intense selection.

We are thrilled to announce that Tavin was elected as one of the four State Career Officers! This marks the third consecutive year GMG has had a student serve as a state officer, a testament to the dedication, leadership, and perseverance of our students.
