Morrison Pioneer Craft Fair sees good crowd

Pat and Bill Bowen of Reinbeck were one of the many craft and food vendors selling at the Farmer’s Market during the Pioneer Craft Fair in Morrison. Other vendors included Laura Bru with The Pie Lady pie stand, Angie’s Kettle Korn, wood crafts by Roland Dew, home decor and flowers by Janet Vandehaar and a Boy Scout group selling meat sticks. Fleshner Farms provided one of the interactive activities at the Pioneer Craft Fair with their horses that were set up across the street from the museum grounds offering rides throughout the day on Sept. 12. The Barn Stahl Petting Zoo also had live animals on hand. Other activities included trolly rides, a haystack hunt, face painting, horseshoe pitching and gypsum crafts. A Buckskinners group was also set up just outside of town for fairgoers to check out.

The annual gathering put on by the Historical Collections of Grundy County and the Grundy County Conservation Board hosted hundreds of spectators that filled the town of Morrison last Sunday to enjoy a full slate of exhibits, activities and food and craft vendors.
