Poker run business game slated for May in Gladbrook

The Gladbrook Commercial Club is finalizing plans for a Poker Run style game.

Starting May 1 entry forms can be picked up at participating Gladbrook merchants or can be downloaded from the Gladbrook Commercial Club Facebook page (facebook.com/gladbrookcommclub).

Cards can be drawn when visiting local businesses to make up a poker hand. The best three poker hands turned in by May 15 will win on of three prizes including $100, $50 or $25 Gladbrook Trade Dollars. All entries will receive a thank you for participating booklet containing Gladbrook business information and coupons.

New members were introduced by President Mandy Boldt. A discussion followed concerning a Meet and Greet night for Gladbrook businesses with an invitation to be sent to potential new members. The Meet and Greet is tentatively scheduled for May.

Master Gardener Lisa Reinhardt has agreed to plant Gladbrook’s downtown flower planters. The Club is seeking assistance with watering and regular care.

Other matters of discussion was the re-opening of Matchstick Marvel Museum on April 1.

The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 6 at 5:30 p.m., at Spanky’s Restaurant.
