GLADBROOK – The Gladbrook-Reinbeck defense surrendered just 3 yards and forced four turnovers as the Rebels pounded Melcher-Dallas 93-6 in Friday’s game.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck (2-2, 2-0) collected its second consecutive win in 8-Man District 5 action, averaging 14.6 yards per play on offense while outgaining Melcher-Dallas 393-3 in total yards. The visiting Saints (1-3, 1-1) managed just four first downs and was held to minus-12 yards rushing.

Colton Clark scored three of the Rebels’ seven first-quarter touchdowns, reeling in a 9-yard TD pass from Jackson Kiburis and following it up with a 7-yard touchdown run. Clark dashed in from 27 yards later in the opening period to make it 38-0, and G-R led 50-0 after one quarter.

Lane Bach had a rushing touchdown and a pair of interception returns for scores, and backup quarterback Tom Smith led G-R with 64 yards rushing and two touchdowns.
