The Reinbeck High School class of 1949 held their 67th annual reunion on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at the Lone Tree Inn, Holland, Iowa. Ten class members and eight spouses and guests attended, a total of eighteen people. there were forty-two graduating class members. Twenty-three remain living and twenty-one are deceased.

A noon meal was enjoyed by those attending. James Frier gave the blessing. He also shared memories of history and told of he and Priscilla’s (wife) experience of hosting RAGBRAI riders as house guests the night before on July 29 in Washington, Iowa. It was very interesting.

Attending were Ruby (Ragsdale) and Elmer Schulta, Marilyn (Barfels) DeLange of Grundy Center, Leonard “Buzz” and Veverly Plaehn of Spring Valley, Minn., James and Priscilla Frier of Washington, Iowa, Louis “Beano” and Ruth Ann Schmidt of Osage, Iowa, Bob and Dorothy Beenken of Lincoln, Arlene (Leon-deceased) Ramundt of Eldora, Charlene (Meggers) Sharp, Marilyn (Jim-deceased) Storjohann, Lil (Bouska) and Jim Westergaard, Marian (Dutton) Thiel and Betty (Ohrt) Petersen, all of Reinbeck. We will meet again next year.
