The Lion’s Club continues to be an active service organization in the Reinbeck community. In July, Emery Shutters was elected as the new president. Wendell Giesking continues as the treasurer and Bill Bowen is secretary.

The annual picnic was held in June for their meeting at the Lion Elmwood Park shelter. Members were encouraged to come in their classic cars. Steve Tscherter drove his 2011 Corvette. Craig Schildroth came in his 1977 Corvette and Marie Schildroth in their 1975 Cadillac and Ed Farley drove his restored 1965 Ford Mustang.

The Lions have given important local support to the Reinbeck Day care building, new Reinbeck highway sign, Elmwood Park shelter, as well as international projects as leaders, dog project, vision and hearing projects and many other charitable projects.
