Tyson Dirks gets a hole-in-one at Oakleaf Country Club on April 7.

Bruce Craig, Reinbeck, finished first out of 39 riders on April 8. On Sunday he placed 4th out of 47 riders.

Marvin Dinsdale, 82, Traer, died April 13 at Parkview Manor.

Marie McKenna, 93, Traer, died April 14 at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer.

Elwood Miller suffered a heart attack and was taken to Covenant Med. Center where he remains a patient.

Ward French, longtime funeral director, received a 50 year award from the Iowa Funeral Directors Association.

Cora Matingly, Marshalltown, will celebrate her 95th birthday on April 30 with a card shower.

APRIL 29, 1976

Jim Denning Chev & Stephan Dodge became one operation when Denning purchased the Stephan Dodge building to be made into a complete repair facility.

About 70 persons attended a special hearing on a request for zoning adjustment to permit Pork Profit an exception to build a large hog nursery and farrowing facility near Zaneta. The board deferred action at this time.

Reinbeck Community School accepted resignations for 1976-77 school year from Franklin Richards, principal, Denise Weiland, Sue Messerly and a one year leave of absence granted to Dan Djuren, band instructor.

50 YEARS AGO

APRIL 28, 1966

Mr. & Mrs. Ray Bonacker were injured in a car accident near Columbia, Mo.

Henry Brandhorst, 74, died April 28 in a Waterloo Hospital.

T. Cooper Evans has erected an additional 11,000 bushel capacity corn dryer bin east of the canning factory.

Mr. & Mrs. LeRoy Moser, Jr. observed their 25th wedding anniversary on April. 26.
