High School Football-Rebels pull away from BCLUW in district play

GLADBROOK – Trevor Trunck threw for a career-high 248 yards and two touchdowns while Chase Clark ran for 126 yards and two scores as Gladbrook-Reinbeck remained unbeaten in Class A District 4 play with a 35-20 victory over BCLUW in Friday’s Homecoming game. Trunck finished 13-for-19 for 248 with touchdown passes of 47 yards to Colton Dinsdale and 4 yards to Joe Zimmerman. Dinsdale finished with 110 yards receiving on four catches, Zimmerman made four grabs for 43 yards, Wyatt Swanson had one catch for 49 yards, and Dustin Dinsdale had three catches for 36 yards. Brandon Lakabung added 54 yards rushing and a 5-yard TD scamper to provide the Rebels’ final points for a 35-7 lead in the third quarter. BCLUW (1-3, 0-1) was led by Deonce Cushinberry’s 55 yards rushing that included a 2-yard TD plunge to even the score at 7-all early in the second quarter. He also had a 6-yard scoring run. Quarterback Conner Ubben was 12-for-25 passing for 155 yards with an interception. He also hooked up with Taylor Sams for a 39-yard scoring strike in the fourth quarter. Sams finished with seven catches for 95 yards, while Isaac Novak had four catches for 52 yards. G-R outgained the Comets in total offense, 456-244. Pete Meyers and Jake Peters had nine tackles apiece to lead the defensive side of the ball for Gladbrook-Reinbeck (3-2, 2-0), which has a bye next week.
