GMG Winners of Own Relays! By Jer Ridout

The GMG Wolverines boys track team won their first GMG Relay’s event in 24 years!!! 1988 was the last year GMG won its own event. Monday, April 9th in Tama was a night to remember for these group of kids. GMG finished 1st with 164 points, 25 points ahead of East Marshall who earned second. In the 110 meter Hurdles, Austin Groth earned 1st place, Kyle Barloon landed 4th. In the 200 meter dash, Greyson Fraser earned 1st place and freshman Lansana Mohr received 4th. For the 400 meter hurdles, Austin Groth landed 1st, and Blane Anderson bolted his way to second. Will Smith earned himself 4th place in the 800 meter run. In the 100 meter dash, Greyson Fraser earned first while Lansana backed him up with 2nd. Devon Schuett earned 3rd in the 400 meter dash. In the 1600 meter run, Will Smith landed 2nd place, while Josh Raymond earned 4th. In the shot put, 1st place was junior Tanner Krier, and 6th place was Gage Fraser. Brock Fisher earned himself a 3rd place spot for the high jump, and in the long jump, Lansana Mohr earned 2nd, while Blane Anderson jumped 3rd. Our 4×800 team consisting of Tyler Krull, Josh Raymond, Logan Burt, and Noah Scheidel placed 4th. The Shuttle Hurdle team involving Devon Schuett, Blane Anderson, Kyle Barloon and Austin Groth landed in first place position. The 1600 meter medley ended in 4th place. Those runners were Kyle Barloon, Tyler Krull, Brock Fisher, and Matt Smith. Congratulations GMG on winning this meet!
