Rebel girls run roughshod on STC/EM TAMA – Five second-half tallies powered Gladbrook-Reinbeck to a 7-0 victory over South Tama/East Marshall in girls’ soccer on Monday. The Rebels, which won their second in a row to improve to 2-1 for the season, found the back of the net 10 minutes in and then again in the 38th minute for a 2-0 halftime advantage. Gladbrook-Reinbeck was coming off a victory at Class 2A No. 15 Independence/East Buchanan last time out and next up has Hudson on April 17.


Charley, Clark drive G-R past Trojans REINBECK – Austin Charley and Chase Clark both had two goals as the Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys were a 6-0 winner against South Tama in soccer action on Monday. Bennett Petersen added a goal and two assists for the Rebels, Dustin Dinsdale had a goal and assist and Andy Meyers an assist. Shawn Duggan stopped all four shots sent his way in goal for G-R. Gladbrook-Reinbeck (2-0) hosts NU High on Thursday.


Trobaugh, Billerbeck medal for G-R PARKERSBURG – The Gladbrook-Reinbeck boys’ golf team won their second dual meet in as many days, defeating Aplington-Parkersburg 167-176 on Tuesday at Legend Trail Golf Club. G-R’s Kevin Trobaugh shot a 1-under-par 35 to claim medalist honors, while Jacob Smoldt finished as the runner-up with a 41. Cobren Bird added a 45 and both Brady Billerbeck and Parker Bolt shot 46 to complete the Rebels’ team score. On Monday, Gladbrook-Reinbeck ousted host North Tama, 159-185 at Traer Golf & Country Club. Billerbeck shot a 1-over 36 for medalist honors and Smoldt was again the runner-up at 38. Trobaugh shot 39 and Bird added a 46. North Tama was led by Taylor Dinsdale’s 44, Blade Bradley and Brian Seda both shot 46 and Jacob Wrage a 49.
