Run n’ Gun Reloaded by: Coach Bailey

The Rebels took on the Mustangs of East Marshall in the first round of Regional Tournament play. The Rebels got off to probably their slowest start of the year as we were down by the score of 10-4 at the end of the first quarter. The kids were playing hard but we just could not get the ball to bounce our way, nor could we get it to go into the basket. We played better in the second quarter as we outscored East Marshall 18-16 to go into halftime down 26-22. At half we talked about forgetting what had happened in the first half and just keep playing our game. Well the Rebels did just that. They came out and ran the Mustangs into the ground as they put up 60 points and won going away by the score of 82-59! Emily Snider scored a career high 29 points to go with four assists for the game. Emily hit 4 three pointers for the game. Addi Kickbush finished with 18 points, 6 steals and 4 assists. Addi hit a big three for us coming out of halftime, which I thought set the tone for the second half. Emily Dinsdale scored 10 point and pulled down 6 big rebounds. Jenna Roeding finished with 8 point and 10 rebounds. Erin Wentzien finished with 6 points and 6 rebounds for the game. Sophomore Britney Keller scored 5 points. Britney is really starting to pick up her game. Brittany Shinn finished with 4 points, 3 rebounds, three steals, and 2 assists. Rachel Bown chipped in with 2 points and 6 big rebounds. Taylor Flamme did not score but had three rebounds and played well on defense. The Rebels travel to State Center on Tuesday to play the Trojans in the second round of the tourney. The Trojans are playing well, but so are the Rebels. It should be a good game.
