G-R high school concert
The Gladbrook-Reinbeck High School will have their spring vocal and band concert on Monday, May 4th, at 7 pm in the high school auditorium.
The choral part of the show will feature songs being sung for Large
Group Contest on May 8th, as well as a couple other fun songs.
The Girl’s Choir will be singing “Sing Unto the Lord” arr. Julie Knowles, “A Red, Red Rose” arr. Douglas E Wagner, and “Clap Yo’ Hand” arr. George Gershwin. The Mixed Choir will sing “Come to Me, O My Love” arr. Allan Robert Petker, and “Aura Lee”.
The Combined Choirs will be singing “Uptown Funk” arr. Mark Brymer, and the Jazz Choir will be singing “Pompeii” arr. Jacob Narverud and “Footloose” arr. Kirby Shaw.
Three groups who performed at Solo Ensemble will be showcasing pieces from contest. Hannah Christopher will be singing “Silent Noon” arr. Ralph Vaughan Williams. Cydney Rose will be singing “The Lass from the Low Countree” arr. John Jacob Niles. A small group of girls (Hanna Christopher, Elise Petterson, Jenny Schildroth, Madeline Mussig, Cydney Rose, Moriah Hoeppner, Ashley Moore and Alyona Strohbehn) will be singing “Danny Boy” arr. Julie Knowles.
The High School Band will be playing “Denbridge Way” by James Swearingen,
“Simple Gifts” arr. James Ployhar, and “Great Movie Adventures” featuring movie music by John Williams.
