Farm Bureau scholarships

Five Grundy County youth were the recipients of Farm Bureau scholarships at their awards presentations last month. Receiving Grundy County Farm Bureau scholarships were: Megan Andersen, Dike-New Hartford High graduate, daughter of Eric and Darla Andersen; Trevor Bakker, AGWSR High graduate, son of Ryan and Lisa Bakker; Ethan Hogle, Grundy Center High graduate, son of Ken and Tam Hogle; and Mitchell Juhl, Hudson High graduate, son of Ed and Gayle Juhl. The Grundy County Farm Bureau scholarships are $600 scholarships which are paid out over two years.

Jared Haupt, AGWSR High graduate, son of Lance and Diane Haupt, was selected for the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation scholarship. The Grundy County Farm Bureau scholarship committee chooses the two top scholarship applications to submit to IFBF for consideration. Six winners are chosen out of the applications received from out 11-county region. The IFBF scholarship is $1,000 and paid out over two years.

All five scholarship recipients are planning to attend Iowa State University this fall and major in an ag-related field of study.
