Electric power suppliers to Grundy County REC have selected Espen Cleveland, Holland, as the recipient of a $1,000 scholarship.

Corn Belt Power Cooperative, Humboldt, power supplier to Grundy County REC, along with Basin Electric Power Cooperative, Bismarck, N.D., awarded the scholarship to Cleveland, whose parents are members of Grundy County REC. Cleveland plans to attend Iowa State University, Ames, where he will major in mechanical engineering.

A senior at Grundy Center High School, Cleveland has served as FFA vice president and National Honor Society. He has participated in track and field, cross country, concert and jazz band and 4H. Cleveland is the son of Ole and Kristin Cleveland, Holland.
